TV Spots in Puerto Rico Promote Digital Literacy and Internet Relevance
The Puerto Rico Broadband Taskforce, in collaboration with the Ad Council and Connect2Compete, produced three television spots to promote digital literacy and the relevance of the Internet. A 2012 Connect Puerto Rico survey found that 65 percent of residents do not subscribe to broadband services in their home. Connect2Compete, in partnership with the Puerto Rico Broadband Taskforce, today released a series of public service announcements (PSA) on everyoneon.org. The campaign was designed to promote the importance of digital literacy skills and increase access to free computer and Internet training classes. Low-income and minority Americans disproportionately find themselves on the wrong side of the digital divide, excluded from the digital economy and all its benefits.
