PRTRB Opens New Computing Center
A new public computing center has been opened in Asomate Aibonito,
under the auspices of the Telecommunications Regulatory Board of Puerto Rico (PRTRB). The center is the latest to open and joins 32 other Internet facilities and 38 Wi-Fi hotspots initiated by the PRTRB
Below is an excerpt from a Sincomillas.com article on this development:
"It is significant that we opened this center in Box Internet Caminero in the Barrio Asomante because was instrumental in the Spanish American War in Puerto Rico, and that at present, the major battles are to save our youth through the education, especially in the primary grades. The PRTRB is part of the battlefront to reduce the digital divide, "said Javier Rua Jovet, chairman of the PRTRB during the opening ceremony of the center.
