Puerto Rico Connects to High-Speed Network Infrastructure
Gov. Alejandro García Padilla has announced that Puerto Rico is connecting to the Optical Transport Infrastructure AMX-1. Connecting to this infrastructure will significantly enhance the quality of telecommunications on the island.
Infrastructure Optical Transport AMX-1 has a capacity of 100 gigabits data per second and a total of 90 terabits per second.
Below is an excerpt from a Puerto Rico news release on this development:
"This new and modern infrastructure will benefit Puerto Rico in different ways. First, the Cloud, a new technological development that provide services or content through the Internet without the need to install software, will enhance services. Second, this new network will facilitate the development of areas such as health, education and government and will accelerate the data transmission infrastructure, "said the governor.
