Video: FirstNet State Plan Considerations
The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) has released an informative video about the upcoming process of State plans for deploying the Radio Access Network (RAN) in each state, along with key items to be considered.
After FirstNet awards the Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network to its chosen telecommunications company, draft plans to deploy the RAN in each state will be provided to state Governors for review. The video tutorial released by FirstNet highlights major steps of this process and provides examples of key state officials and advisors that will want to be involved in the review process. States also have the choice of opting out of the FirstNet deployment if they choose to deploy their own statewide public safety RAN.
