Ogemaw County has made it easier for ISPs to extend broadband coverage in the area by going upward. A newly completed vertical assets inventory includes barns, poles, towers, water towers, silos, and other tall structures across 14 townships in Ogemaw County. With this information, ISPs can install broadband infrastructure on tall structures in the area and significantly reduce the investment required.

The Elk Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce with Chemical Bank will present a free informative seminar on Learning How to Protect Yourself Against Fraud, Tuesday October 27th at the Village offices, 315 Bridge Street at 7:00pm. Guest speaker Michelle Thren is a fraud investigator and a Certified Fraud Examiner.  Her purpose is to bring awareness to individuals that will help prevent fraud and assist people that have been victimized. “Education is our only prevention”.

The Fremont Community Recreation Authority (FCRA) in Fremont, Michigan, has brought children and adults in the community together for just over two years, providing a space for a wide array of activities including swimming, basketball, tennis, soccer, and more. In that time, the FCRA has successfully engaged the community in teams, classes, camps, tournaments, and other programs throughout the year, bringing families away from sedentary inactivity.
