From Monica Scott | The Grand Rapids Press
GRAND RAPIDS — Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette is cautioning children that sometimes online friends are not who they say they are.
Today, Schuette is relaunching the Michigan Cyber Safety Initiative at Grand Rapids Sherwood Park Global Studies Academy, 3859 Chamberlain Ave. SE. The free Internet safety program is aimed at students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
“The predators on the Internet can be just as dangerous as predators that invade your home,” Schuette said. “We are going to be very aggressive about taking the message of Internet safety to schools across Michigan.”
